About the Artist

Melissa Barrett Traister is an ekphrastic artist who lives in Colorado. She earned a M.F.A. in Writing and Poetics from Naropa University, a Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification (K-8) from Scottsdale Community College, and a B.A., with concentrations in Literature and Women and Gender Studies, from Arizona State University. 

 

She currently works as an Adjunct Instructor at Front Range Community College and as a Book Influencer for Harper Perennial. Previously, she was a Gallery Host at the Denver Art Museum, an Adjunct Instructor at Community College of Aurora, a Multimedia Intern at Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA), Summer Writing Program Artistic Director Assistant at Naropa University, and an Archive Editor for Bombay Gin Literary Journal

 

She created Hue over a two-year period.
